Yui Tenma’s career is the voice-acting dream gone sideways, then gone wide. A trainee at a voice-acting school who applied to the AV industry on her own, debuted in 2018, retired in 2020, returned under a new name in 2021 — and now writes tokusatsu scripts, appears on Netflix, and still works in AV. The second career is not an escape from the first; it is running alongside it.

2018–2020: Sora Kamikawa, the first run

She grew up anime-obsessed, trained at a voice-acting school, and applied to the industry on her own. Her first run, as Sora Kamikawa, began in April 2018 on MOODYZ and ended in June 2020 with retirement.

2021: the return as Yui Tenma

On 18 March 2021 she announced the return under Yui Tenma. Her first title under the new name released in June 2021. She has worked freelance across many studios — MOODYZ, Alice Japan, Fitch, Max-A and others — and by her own 2024 count had passed 100 titles.

The 2022 Alice Japan title Girls’ Track Club Member sold roughly 10,000 copies in a week, and its re-discovery drove a #2 FANZA streaming weekly in September 2023.

The tokusatsu and mainstream track

The non-AV work is where the voice-acting training surfaced:

  • 2021– — villainess role in GIGA’s tokusatsu series Wakusei Sentai WAKUSAIBER (SEASON 2 in 2022, Kaijū Sentai Jūkaizā in 2022)
  • 2025 — scriptwriter for all four episodes of Sōdō Sentai Gōkengō, on top of acting
  • 2023 — indie film Onmitsu Nuremochichō
  • 2025 — Netflix’s Death Kiss Game (resident role)
  • 2022 — entry in the DMM GAMES voice-acting audition for Crimson Youma Taisen

Rankings

  • June 2025 — #1, FANZA streaming weekly
  • September 2025 — #9, FANZA monthly
  • March 2026 / May 2026 — #10, FANZA monthly

Now

Active in AV as of 2026, with regular event work — including an appearance at the TRE expo in Taipei in 2024 — and the tokusatsu writing continuing. Her X account documents the day-to-day, including her event schedule.

What this career means

The voice-acting training that did not go to waste — it went sideways. Tenma’s original aim, acting, became the AV career, and then the acting re-surfaced in the industry’s most literal form: writing and performing tokusatsu. The retire-and-return shape is the same as Amatsuki’s; the tokusatsu scriptwriting is what makes hers distinct. It is the industry’s most otaku-native career on this site.
