Tsukasa Aoi (葵つかさ): The 15-Year Exclusive Career That Ended on Schedule
From gravure in 2008 to an Alice Japan debut in 2010 and S1 in 2015 — then a quiet Instagram retirement in July 2025, effective 17 August. Over 700 titles across two labels, never dropping out of the exclusive tier.

Careers in this industry are short, and even the exclusive ones end when a term is not renewed. Tsukasa Aoi is the exception that ran the whole distance: gravure in 2008, AV in 2010, and a retirement announced in July 2025, effective 17 August — fifteen years spent inside the exclusive tier and nowhere else.
Over 700 titles, two labels, and a set of “firsts” she accumulated while still active. This is the profile of the career that did not fall.

2008: gravure first
She entered through the industry’s most common doorway: gravure. In October 2008 she debuted in a uniform gravure feature in Bejean magazine, then worked on regional television in Kansai — Sun Television and Television Osaka shows.
Gravure sits next door to adult video in this industry, which is precisely why the step is so common. Our careers explainer lists it as one of the three standard routes in.
2010: the Alice Japan debut
She made her AV debut on 8 October 2010 with Alice Japan, in Absolute Girl Aoi Tsukasa, as an exclusive. That placement matters: Alice Japan’s exclusivity is the “sold by name” tier, the opposite of the freelance work-for-hire route.
In February 2011 she appeared on the cover of Saizo magazine — reported as the first active AV actress ever to grace a magazine cover. The firsts were coming before the career was a year old.
Film and Taiwan: the crossovers
The mainstream work ran alongside the AV career.
- 2012 — she starred in Female Prisoner No. 701 – Sasori, Ken’ichi Fujiwara’s remake of the 1972 Female Convict 701: Scorpion — a leading role in a mainstream film.
- 2013 — a guest appearance in the Taiwanese drama True Love 365, reported as the first AV actress to appear in a Taiwanese drama.
- 2014 — she featured as a Sailor Moon AV model in Naked Ambition 2, and appeared in A Record of Sweet Murder.
The Taiwan connection matters beyond the curiosity of it. It is the same East Asian reception that made Yui Hatano’s transit-card incident a national story — the industry’s performers treated as public figures rather than marginalised ones.
2015: Alice Japan to S1
In 2015 she transferred from Alice Japan to S1 No. 1 Style, the flagship label of the Hokuto Corporation group. Her last Alice Japan title was released on 22 May 2015.
That same year, on 26 September 2015, she joined the second-generation Ebisu Muscats — the same generation as Yua Mikami. She graduated in June 2018.
The awards clustered around this period: the FLASH Award at the 2012 Adult Broadcasting Awards, the Special Presenter Award at the 2016 DMM Adult Awards, and a Best Actress nomination at the 2019 FANZA Adult Awards.
2025: the retirement on schedule
On 20 July 2025 she announced on Instagram that she would retire on 17 August 2025. Fifteen years after the gravure debut, the career closed on the date she chose.
Retirement means new production stops, and nothing else. It does not withdraw the existing catalogue — that was never what intai did. The 2022 performer-protection law’s cancellation right applies to titles released within one year (two under transitional provisions); the overwhelming majority of her 700-plus titles predate it entirely. Her final years’ work falls under the new law; the rest does not. Both facts are normal.
What the career means
The exclusive tier, run to its full length. The ordinary outcome in this industry is a term that ends without renewal, and a career that leaves almost no public record. Aoi’s is the documented opposite: fifteen years, two labels, no fall to the freelance tier, and a retirement she announced herself rather than one that happened to her.
Against the other profiles on this site, she is the closest thing to the “career as advertised” — the promoted exclusive who stayed promoted until she decided to stop. That is precisely why she is worth profiling: in this industry, it is the rarest outcome of all.
