Momonga Kana is the exclusive-tier career at its cleanest. IdeaPocket from October 2015 to November 2025 — ten years, no label changes, more than 100 titles — ended with a retirement she announced and dated herself. In an industry where the ordinary exclusive career ends when a contract quietly is not renewed, hers ended on a schedule she set.

2015: the scouted debut

She was scouted in Ikebukuro in 2015 and debuted on 19 October 2015 as an IdeaPocket exclusive, in the FIRST IMPRESSION line. The label placement mattered: IdeaPocket is the Hokuto group’s flagship for promoted, named exclusives. She stayed there for the entire decade.

2017: the awards

  • March 2017 — New Actress and Tokyo Sports awards, Sky PerfecTV! ceremony
  • 2017 — DMM Media Award

That same period she joined the second-generation Ebisu Muscats in September 2015, staying until the group’s effective dissolution in August 2022.

2021: the industry-first Ultra HD Blu-ray

In January 2021 she starred in the industry’s first Ultra HD Blu-ray release — a three-studio simultaneous title (IdeaPocket, Premium, Das). The 4K format lead was a genuine industry milestone, and it went to a ten-year exclusive, which is itself the point: the format’s debut went to the established name, not a newcomer.

2024: the 100th title

Her 100th title released in May 2024, an 8th-anniversary marker. Ten years and 100 titles, all IdeaPocket, all exclusive.

2025: the retirement on schedule

On 28 September 2025 she announced she would retire with her 7 October 2025 release. Her final titles were -FINAL IMPRESSION- IdeaPocket Legend Momonga Kana, Retires on 11 November 2025, and an 8K VR title on 21 November 2025. Ten years, closed on her own date.

Retirement ends new production and nothing else. Her existing catalogue remains in circulation, as it does for every retiree — the 2022 law’s cancellation right applies to recent titles only, and most of her work predates it.

Her own X account still documents the post-retirement activity, including a Macau event announcement for September 2026.

What this career means

The exclusive career, run to its term, ending on her schedule. Against Otsuki’s freelance volume and Matsumoto’s tier-hopping, Momonga Kana is the straight-line exclusive: one label, ten years, 100 titles, and a retirement she announced, dated and kept. The “IdeaPocket legend” framing of her final title was not marketing; it was the accurate summary of the shape.
