Sumire Kuramoto (倉本すみれ): AV Actress Age, Debut, Studios and Idol Duo

Sumire Kuramoto is the case that proves the “ordinary entry” can go the full distance. A cafe worker in Shibuya who entered the industry in 2021 out of plain curiosity, rose through the freelance tier to #8 in the 2022 annual ranking, and by late 2024 had become a triple exclusive at three studios. Then she started an idol duo.

2021: curiosity from the cafe counter

Kuramoto was working at a stylish cafe in Shibuya when she entered the industry. Her stated reason, repeated in interviews, is disarmingly simple: “what is AV really like?” Curiosity, not a scouting story and not a plan.

She debuted on 19 October 2021 on MOODYZ, in a title built around her cafe background. The framing matched the reality: this was the “ordinary young woman” archetype, and the ranking history shows the framing worked.

2022–2024: the freelance climb

Like Ichika Matsumoto and Waka Misono, she did this from the freelance tier — per-shoot work across MOODYZ, Maxing, Wanz Factory and others, outselling most of the promoted exclusives on volume and consistency.

Late 2024: the triple exclusive

On 15 October 2024 she announced the move. From November 2024 she became a triple exclusive at Muku, Honnaka and Das. A freelance performer converting to multiple exclusivity is the industry’s acknowledgment that the volume-driven rise was real — the same shape as Matsumoto’s return and Misono’s conversion.

Her work has continued to chart since, with a weekly FANZA top-10 as recent as February 2026.

fleuR: the idol duo

In May 2025 she formed the idol duo fleuR with Ichika Matsumoto. The debut single released in May, the CD in July, and the mini-live in Shibuya in September 2025. In July 2026 the duo announced a four-city live tour across Hokkaido, Fukuoka, Osaka and Nagoya.

The pairing matters: the two most commercially successful freelance-tier performers of the modern era, together in an idol project, while both remain active in AV. That is the Mana Sakura pattern — the second career running alongside, not after.

What this career means

Curiosity as an entry point, and the freelance tier as a real route up. Kuramoto is the modern, female, Tokyo version of the industry’s most common story — and the record shows how far that story can go when the work is consistent. #8 in her first full year, #2 rental in her third, triple exclusivity by her fourth.
